cafeteria, a library with sky lights, classrooms incolor-coded
hallways, computer center, administrative offices and outdoor
playground.
The
new GISD 9th elementary school is located in the Woodlake
Residential Development,just west of Shell Road off Williams
Drive. It was completed in June 2004, intime for the 2004/05
school year.
The 70,000 square foot elementary school is designed tohold 700 kindergarten through fifth grade students and is similar in design toother schools in thedistrict. It has masonry veneer, standing seam metal roofing, and decorativeblue-tinted prism shaped windows. The school's flat facade is broken up by aseries of roof-topped columns that pop-out from the front. FTWOODS Construction teamed with BMA Architects from Duncanville,Texas. The two firms have successfully built Forbes Middle School and the VillageElementarySchool Expansion.
